Nurses: A Force Amidst Challenging Issues and Emerging Trends in Healthcare

Objectives:

By the end of this event, participants will be able to:

1.Identify current challenges impacting nursing practice and the healthcare environment.

2.Discuss emerging trends, innovations, and strategies that support nursing resilience, quality care, and professional growth.

3.Collaborate on actionable approaches to strengthen the nursing workforce and enhance patient care delivery.

This breakfast convention provides an engaging and thoughtful forum for nurses and healthcare leaders to connect and exchange insights. Participants will explore the pressing issues affecting Immigrant Filipino nurses (like healthy and unhealthy forms of their core cultural traits) and the nursing workforce in general including burnouts, moral distress, and other workload demands, staff retention challenges, and the implications of rapid healthcare changes/challenges. Speakers will highlight emerging trends such as evidence-based care models or practice (like lifestyle medicine, culturally sensitive self-care program), initiatives that advance nursing well-being (recognition of stressors/ negative thoughts, practice of mindfulness, yoga, meditation, Deep Breathing Exercises or DBE), digital transformation through artificial intelligence, professional development and social and community connections. The event fosters meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and a renewed sense of purpose—affirming the invaluable role nurses play as a dynamic force in navigating challenges and shaping the future of healthcare.
